History:

Tigh Beg was used as the local Court House for the Stewarts of Achadashenaig, when tacksmen of the property in the late 18th century were also empowered as Sheriffs.

The staircase is a well preserved box staircase, once common in 18th century Highland houses. The large hooks remaining in the lounge ceiling are a relic from when it was used as the kitchen and hams would be hung there to cure.
