History
The cottage was built by Duncan Fletcher, to house the estate shepherd, with stone from an earlier building on the site.
The rear of the cottage, now a bathroom , larder and small bedroom, was originally a byre for the shepherd to house his cow, and there was a traditional box bed bed built into the wall of what is now the kitchen.
The cottage was in continual use for the shepherd until the early 1960's, except for a period during the second world war when it was let to Captain Callum Black of the Lohinvar, one of David Macbrayne's most respected sea captains, who lived there with his five children!
